Doomben Wednesday
RAIL- +6m
Rating- (Should be Good-Dead with a shower or two predicted)
*It is not always the case but it can pay to be handy to the pace here with the rail out. Even more so at the tricky starting points 1000m and 1600m
***We do have a BLACKBOOKER going around in CRASHING – Race 5 No.4
Race 2:
The day starts slow but there does seem to be two main players here. NIGHT CHILLS has run really well in two feature maiden races (I know that sounds weird) but the form from th3e Millions maiden will stand up, Gallinari has already come out and won since.
1350m is what TIGER JET is looking for now and she surely deserves to break the duck soon? She has been around the money every start and gets a clever 2kg claim.
THESE STREETS for Birchley was good in only start last prep and should be respected. I’d like to see how this returns before I got on but respect any money trails!
On Top:
2- NIGHT CHILLS – 8- TIGER JET
Race 3:
Again only a few hopes for punters to work around.
PINESPUN is in the leading yard and will take great improvement from debut run. Top jock goes on and it is the one to beat.
FIESTY BELLE and TITIAN TIGRESS look best of the rest.
On Top:
7- PINESPUN
Race 7:
PERON looks the standout and may start stupid odds. I agree it has the most upside here and Cahill on, but it’s not a horse I could back outright at an odds-on quote. She did beat Pickabee on that occasion and also Fantisha (by 3.5L) and that horse should have won Saturday in town…
If you are looking around her or for value in tri’s behind her- PURE REALITY looks the next best to me. Her run at the GC new years day was actually pretty good and then ran 5th to the very smart Bennetta on Millions day (beaten 4.2L) which is great form for this.
ITCHINTOWIN looks to make it a hat-trick of wins and the Matt Dunn pair of OUR TRIPLE TREAT and DYNOMITELLA who has blinkers 1st time need to be given some thought.
*Will be interesting to see just how good this Patinack horse is. I may have a quinella with Pure Reality.
On Top:
7- PERON — 10- PURE REALITY
Race 8:
Really nice 3yr old QTIS race.
4-5 horses with a clear class edge, but 1020m race can be tricky here. You don’t want to get posted wide.
GENERAL JACKSON has gate 12 but that is not an issue as I can’t see a horse being able to lead it as it goes like a cut cat! That gate and 59kg are a tough task but I respect true 1000m horses over the trip.
TOM’S LUCK has a lot of potential as shown by 3 wins from his 4 starts. He has been strong late in all those wins and he gets the run of the race behind the speed. He will be very hard to beat.
CALDETES is 36 days between runs but back to 1020m and with blinkers on is suitable for him. He is not an easy horse to ride but if Tegan can stay in touch with them early he will be hitting the line as good as anything.
TEAR IT UP is 2 from 2 and may be the horse representing some value (markets not up as I type). She has rolled General Jackson before and with luck in running she is a factor. (She opened $15 and has been crunched into $6.50)
*That’s how I see it but very hard to split the four main chances
Numbers in no particular order- 1,2,3,6
