I was sent this information from one of our very switched on followers Brad. I believe it is from the very informative website BREEDNET.com.au . Check it out for anyone who likes breeding. This is from days 1-4 of the Millions.

**I am friends with a lot of the QLD trainers around the traps and I think this is just another snapshot to show that our training stocks are as good as any other state.

There is no doubt about Gai Waterhouse and Chris Waller’s abilities, I am simply amazed at what Waller has accomplished through hard work and a ton of talent!Dollar

Check out the above stats, no wonder there is so much talk about these stables. The Waterhouse stable had spent $8.2 million by the end of day 4 on 39 horses! Add to that another 15 and $2 million worth to Round Table Racing who races them with Gai, a combined 54 horses at $10,000,000 and change. At that cost you would want to be rolling out the Pierro’s and what not of the racing world.

To think what Rob Heathcote and Tony Gollan have achieved with relatively cheap or QTIS horses over the last couple of years and running/winning blacktype races down south is terrific. Unfortunately the prizemoney up here is not great incentive for owners at the moment and Gollan, Heathcote, Dunn and Co. are mostly stuck to buying half a dozen QTIS horses from the March sale around the $25-60k mark and hope they measure up. Yes once in a blue moon a big owner may turn up and give you a couple of crackers but not too often in the QLD training ranks.

Dan Bougoure has a new owner on board who has spent up big time and Dan has done a great job with Oakleigh Girl flying and running 2nd in the Magic Millions classic on the weekend to prove us Queenslanders are more than up to the southern states….. Just give us the chance.
