Flemington Race 2 #2 OPENING ADDRESS $4
No good thing but still feel the $4 is a fair price. Maiden win three runs back was dominant (4.8L). Little plain after that and then awesome in the G2 Vase at the Valley. McDonald rides, maps well and gets every chance.
Flemington Race 3
I might be way off the mark here but CLOUDLAND at $2 seems bloody short. I’m just gonna split a normal bet between CHATTAHOOCHEE $8, KANGERO $34 and SHE’S PRETTY RICH $27. And RIOT AND ROSE is fitter for the runs back and dry track will see him improve.
Flemington Race 4 #18 VERSAILLE $7 – (Feel #9 HEDONIST at $46 is the best roughie.)
Thought we’d be getting a better price with the jump in grade. Was a winner on debut last prep and the trials this time in work have been top shelf. Market on the day will tell a story but should run well in a very tough race. DAMEHOOD and GRUZAMBA were also maiden winners on debut and look like very handy ones on the way up.
Flemington Race 5 #15 AHURIRI $19/$5
Been a fan of this horse since last prep. Form this time in has been ok and just feel will be peaking for this. Big track suits, this trip suits and feel the price is generous!
Flemington Race 6 – Win #8 ARPULIA $3.30
or QUINELLA 2,5,8
APULIA is a lightly raced horse who has shown great ability. Was a very good run fresh and 1800m on the big track suits. Deserves to be fav. Moreira gets on ZECHARIAH and $17 looks the wrong price. Decent overseas form and worked to the line good enough at first Aussie start. Bad gate not ideal but expecting to be strong late. ARRAN BAY is now rock hard fit, maps behind the leaders and sure to look the winner after they straighten.
Flemington Race 8 #8 CHEWING GUM $10/$2.90
Another lottery here, any of a dozen could win and not surprise. Just been a fan of this horse. Has savaged the line in two of her three runs to date and just needs the splits at the right time. Scratched Saturday to run here and that’s always a good sign when in a good stable. A stack of other chances though.
Race 10 #3 RHEINBERG $4
Another tough race to finish but going with McDonald. The recent jump outs have been very good and looks set to run really well fresh. Big weight isn’t ideal but the good gate means he probably sits on the leaders back and will be first to strike on straightening. JMac will now how long to wait until he asks for the supreme effort.
